{"id":38,"date":"2021-09-20T18:51:22","date_gmt":"2021-09-20T18:51:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/scaihs.org\/elm\/?page_id=38"},"modified":"2023-09-27T15:43:54","modified_gmt":"2023-09-27T15:43:54","slug":"grading-guidelines","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/scaihs.org\/elm\/elementary-information-hub\/grading-guidelines\/","title":{"rendered":"Grading Guidelines"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\"><p>[vc_row tm_bgimagefixed=&#8221;&#8221; css=&#8221;.vc_custom_1635365134094{padding-top: 30px !important;padding-bottom: 5px !important;}&#8221;][vc_column]<h2 style=\"text-align:center;color:#484e8d;\" class=\"tm-custom-heading vc_custom_1632173807089\" >Grading Guidelines<\/h2>\n[vc_column_text]Members with elementary students are required to submit year-end grades on June 7<sup>th<\/sup>.\u00a0 The grading scale options are listed below \u2013 traditional and non-graded.\u00a0 The numerical averages are those of the SC uniform grading scale.\u00a0 Most primary instructors use traditional grading (averages) for subjects in which the materials provide regular tests or quizzes.\u00a0 The non-graded scale is used for subjects in which the materials are activity-based and do not provide tests.\u00a0 Many members issue grades using a mix from both scales depending on the materials used.\u00a0 You may submit grades for extra-curricular areas in which your child is involved; however, they are not required.<\/p>\n<p><strong>SC UNIFORM GRADING SCALE:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>A\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 90 &#8211; 100<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>B\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 80 &#8211; 89<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>C\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 70 &#8211; 79<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>D\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 60 &#8211; 69<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>F\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 59 and below<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>OPTIONAL &#8220;NON-GRADED&#8221; SCALE FOR GRADES K6 &#8211; 8:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>E\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Excellent<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>S\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Satisfactory<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>M\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Making Progress<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>N\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Needs Improvement<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>U\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Unsatisfactory<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>**The goal for each subject\/course is to complete all work presented on the Proposed Course of Study form within the academic year. \u00a0If it is not possible to complete the work during the year, please record \u201cInc\u201d (for incomplete) for the subject\/course.
